I'm 37 and have been happily married since Sept. 2002. Ivan is truly my companion in life. Our TTC journey has felt like a never ending roller coaster ride. We had an ectopic PG in Dec. 04 and in April 05 found out my IF is due to tubal abnormality. We were told IVF was our only hope. July 05 we did IVF # 1 and it was a chemical PG. We did IVF # 2 in Oct. 05 and it was a BFN. In Jan. 06 we did a combined fresh and frozen embryo transfer and it was a BFN. We were determined not to give up our dream of having a baby. IVF # 4 was in April 06. The cycle worked like a charm and on December 20, 2006 we were blessed with Hannah and Matthew.

Nurse Protocol Appt.
Met with the nurse and I got my protocol. I start doing the OPK on CD 10 – 12/20. If I O on CD 14 – 12/24 I begin Lupron on 12/31 and will be able to start stims on 1/12. I must admit that being there and talking about the meds gave me a boost of optimism. I have to be hopeful and I will. I know it will be hard but I have to fight my negative thoughts. I’ve just been laying low trying not to stress myself out. Things will get better…slowly but surely.I’m eager to start. I guess it’s safe to say that by the end of January I will be having my retrieval and early Feb. the transfer. Maybe I’ll know for Valentines. Okay, I have to take it one day at a time..once I start planning and thinking ahead I start to lose control and that’s when things start getting to me.Yesterday was a good day. It’s been a while since I had a good day….YAY!! Ivan and I went to the movies and watched King Kong. Afterwards we got take out and went home and snuggled on the couch wearing our matching King Kong shirts…yes, he got us matching King Kong shirts.

It's so nice to hear that things are looking up...I know how hard it is. It's funny how exciting we get when we get our protocol.
Too funny about the matching shirts...your DH sounds like mine. Keep the spirits up!

How was the movie? I think the matching shirts is so cute...it's something my DH would do.

One day at a time is much easier to deal with... and it makes for nicer days. I'm like you -- I tend to look off in the distance. I've always been a dreamer and a hopeful person, but after so many rounds of a failed protocol I decided that with my IVF I'd take it a day at a time. And it's been much easier for me.
Good Luck!! Matching shirts. You two are so cute it's gross. :)

I can't believe you got your protocol already - it seems to have come up so quickly. I am glad that you are feeling a little better.
How cute that you had matching shirts - lol - what a good guy you have there!
Have a good one Liz.

I'm glad you are starting to feel better...I know how difficult it can be. It seems the roller coaster never ends...so many highs and lows to deal with. I know getting your protocol was uplifting. Make sure to monitor when you O. I started on day 10 and I think I had already O'd so I started the Lupron late and I think that might have something to do with the poor fertilization I got.
It looks like we will be cycle buddies again..YAY!!

Too funny Thalia. I read your comment to Ivan and now he wants to get a kong teddy.

I'm glad you had a good day - heaven knows they can be too few and far between during this process. And bonus points to Ivan for the shirts - how fun!
Between the pregnant friend, the yucky bloodwork and getting your protocol, it sounds like you and I had a very similar week. We're also on a similar IVF schedule. Here's hoping the cycle goes quickly and - more importantly - ends positively!

Liz, I hope that this is the keeper and that you can stay positive. Everyone is telling me that FEB will be here before I know it. I think they are lying! Soooo we can wait together
