    About Me

    Name: Liz
    Location: New York

I'm 37 and have been happily married since Sept. 2002. Ivan is truly my companion in life. Our TTC journey has felt like a never ending roller coaster ride. We had an ectopic PG in Dec. 04 and in April 05 found out my IF is due to tubal abnormality. We were told IVF was our only hope. July 05 we did IVF # 1 and it was a chemical PG. We did IVF # 2 in Oct. 05 and it was a BFN. In Jan. 06 we did a combined fresh and frozen embryo transfer and it was a BFN. We were determined not to give up our dream of having a baby. IVF # 4 was in April 06. The cycle worked like a charm and on December 20, 2006 we were blessed with Hannah and Matthew.

    Here We Go Again...

    Image hosted by Photobucket.com
I did my first shot of Lupron tonight....what a relief to finally start. Ivan is worried that I will have raging hormones and will go psycho. I'm hoping the side effects won't be too bad but if they are it is worth it. I start Follistim and Menopur on the 12th. I'm going to be hopeful until the very end.
Here is a picture of a gift that Ivan gave me on Friday for starting IVF #3. I think it is so sweet of him to give me a gift before I start each cycle. IVF #1 - Tiffany cross necklace, IVF #2 - we went to Barcelona, IVF # 3 - Angel's Whisper.

Angel's Whisper - it is a celtic belief that sleeping babies smile because angels whisper in their ears. He wrote on the card that he knows one day we will have an angel whispering to our baby.
I may not have a baby but I am blessed with a wonderful husband.

What a beautiful and thoughtful gift...very sweet of Ivan.

I hope the Lupron doesn't addle your brain *too* much! And also hoping very hard that this cycle ends in about 10 months, with a baby!

What a sweetheart your husband is. Good luck with your cycle. I started my lupron Dec 22nd and start Gonal F and menopur tonight. I haven't been too bad on the lupron until today when I'm really feeling the effect of low to no estrogen. This is IVF # 2 for me. Here's hoping 2006 will bring us both joy.

Oh what a great gift...it is beautiful. Hope the lupron won't cause lots of side effects. Hope your cycle goes by very fast and most of all that it ends with a BFP!

That is a beautiful gift that Ivan got you. I think it will look great in the nursery.

Wow, you've started again already - my clinic is making me wait so long! Glad that things are underway and that Ivan is being wonderful (as usual)

Good luck with the upcoming cycle! And what an incredibly thoughtful husband you have. I think I'm going to drop a few hints about pre-IVF cycle gifts...

Your husband gift was so sweet:)
Even though shots stink, it's exciting to be starting a new cycle:) I hope that third times a charm and this IVF cycle works for you:)

By the way, that was really uncool of what your sister said. I don't see anything wrong with wanting a biological child and doing everything in your power to achieve that. Thank God that we have the advancement of IVF, it makes so many people parents.
I always think people who make these types of comments have no idea how painful infertility can be.

Anyways, good luck with the shots:)

What a nice gift! I admire how much faith you have through all of this. That's one thing I am definitely lacking.
    3rd time's a charm!

De-lurking to send many positive thoughts for this cycle. Hoping that it works, and that there will be no need for anymore "pre-cycle" gifts.

Just wanted to check up on you since I hadn't seen you post lately on the forums.

I think Ivan's gift to you is very sweet. Each cycle can be so draining on your emotions, havoc on your body, and insanity on your hormones.

I'm hoping that this one sticks! :)

BTW, I think we may be cycle buddies. I'm starting Lupron on the 5th and stims on the 15th.

    What a beautiful gift.

My brother-in-law gave us a celtic fertility goddess sculpture during my last cycle. It was a cool design, but a hideous color (and I don't like my BIL). When I got my bad news it felt very good to smash it on my front stoop, and then pick up the pieces and throw them against my brick wall so it would smash even smaller.

I wouldn't have been able to do it if she were as pretty as your angel.

Good luck with your cycle. I'll be checking on you often.

Oh liz that was wonderful! I am going to keep you in my thoughts and prayers! I am so hoping for you! Please try to keep positive, it is difficult I know

What a beautiful gift. I've wanted an angel in memory of Audrey since we lost her, but every one I have come across is too cheesey. I love that one. What a sweet man you have.

Wishing you the best with this cycle!
