    About Me

    Name: Liz
    Location: New York

I'm 37 and have been happily married since Sept. 2002. Ivan is truly my companion in life. Our TTC journey has felt like a never ending roller coaster ride. We had an ectopic PG in Dec. 04 and in April 05 found out my IF is due to tubal abnormality. We were told IVF was our only hope. July 05 we did IVF # 1 and it was a chemical PG. We did IVF # 2 in Oct. 05 and it was a BFN. In Jan. 06 we did a combined fresh and frozen embryo transfer and it was a BFN. We were determined not to give up our dream of having a baby. IVF # 4 was in April 06. The cycle worked like a charm and on December 20, 2006 we were blessed with Hannah and Matthew.

    Snuggling Already

We had our 15 wk u/s today and as always it was an amazing experience. It's great to see the babies and know that they are doing well. Seeing and hearing the heartbeat takes my breath away. I still can't believe this is happening, I can't believe it's true.

We got nice pics of the twins but this one is my favorite.

I call it the snuggling pose. It was beautiful to see that even before they are born the little boy is snuggling with his sister. It was warm to see that affection already. Twin B - Matthew is leaning on Twin A - Hannah's head. At one point he was sucking his thumb. Yes, their names are Matthew and Hannah, to be exact Matthew Alexander and Hannah Stella (Stella was Ivan's mother's name).

All is going well with the pregnancy. I'm a little concerned with the weight gain as I've already gained 13 lbs but the doctor doesn't seem to think it's too much too soon. I will start cutting down on carbs, as I'm a carb whore. I've been having some pains which the doctor said are due to the ligaments stretching and the uterus shifting. My next appt. is in 3 weeks for the Level II u/s...that should be fun.

    Hope you are all well.

I bet it's became so real to you when you saw these beautiful images. I'm also 13 weeks (singleton) and it was amazing to see your images. I won't get the 3D u/s until a little bit later. Anyhow, Hannah and Matthew are perfect! Congrats!

Wow, who knew that at 13 weeks it could be like that. Congratulations Liz, that is amazing. Also, I love the names!

Got to your blog through several links. I am currently 15weeks, 4 days with twins. I have a 3-year old and had an ectopic in 10/2003. I conceived on Clomid this time. I love your names. How did you find out so early what you were having? I am hoping to have that u/s in the next couple weeks.
Congratulations---and enjoy. I am feeling those ligament pains (and I think some of it is my scar tissue pulling)--does it mostly happen when you turn over in bed or get up from sitting??

Thanks to God, all is going well.
That is such an awesome picture of Hannah & Matthew. That's so cute to see Matthew already being a sweet brother to his sister even in utero. I think I would've cried to see that live (I'm such a cry baby) LOL I love it! And I love their names.

And don't cut back on feeding those babies, they need it! :)

What a lovely picture. So glad to hear that all is well. And I love the names you've picked! And don't stress about the weight...You're eating for three!

    Absolutely beautiful!

I'm in ultrasound withdrawal because Dr. Awesome OB thinks we IVF'ers are spoiled by all the scans we get early on! (he is right!!)

I am so excited for you! Be well!

What an adorable photo! I'm glad things are going well. I can't believe you're only 15 weeks - for some reason, it seems like you've been pg forever! I don't know why...

I was thinking the opposite of rebecca, I can't believe it's 15 weeks already. All the best!

Liz, I want to tell you that I come to look at this picture everyday. It inspires me. The fact that you refused to give up, that this was your 4th IVF, that you now have these amazing lifes inside you, it really, truly inspires me. Your story and mine are somewhat similar and I feel so much more hope for a 2nd round of IVF when I read your story.

What a beautiful picture. I'm so glad to hear that all continues to go well for you. Geez, my twins were kicking each other and definitely not cuddling. I'm hoping it's not a sign of things to come.
Your weight gain sounds just fine. I think I've heard that 20 pounds by 20 weeks is fairly normal for multiples. Don't be too hard on yourself.

fancy being able to see so much already in the womb! I'm so glad things are going so well, Liz.

I haven't checked in in SUCH a long time and I apologize. I am SO happy for you! Reading back through my blog, you were there when I first announced I was pregnant through IVF. I am now creeping up on 32 weeks! :)
