    About Me

    Name: Liz
    Location: New York

I'm 37 and have been happily married since Sept. 2002. Ivan is truly my companion in life. Our TTC journey has felt like a never ending roller coaster ride. We had an ectopic PG in Dec. 04 and in April 05 found out my IF is due to tubal abnormality. We were told IVF was our only hope. July 05 we did IVF # 1 and it was a chemical PG. We did IVF # 2 in Oct. 05 and it was a BFN. In Jan. 06 we did a combined fresh and frozen embryo transfer and it was a BFN. We were determined not to give up our dream of having a baby. IVF # 4 was in April 06. The cycle worked like a charm and on December 20, 2006 we were blessed with Hannah and Matthew.

    Modified rest...not too much fun

I went to see my doctor on Friday because the swelling was worse. My legs were also swollen and it hurt when I walked, bent down, and went up the stairs.

I have twins bilateral edema and have been placed on modified rest until my next visit on Wed. They recommended a not too fashionable $100 compressed thigh high support hose to help with the swelling. Well it appears to be helping/working. My legs are starting to look normal again. Hopefully the swelling will continue to go down and I can return to normal activities.

Although it's not strict bed rest I have to limit my walking and I need to maintain my legs up. To be honest it feels like house arrest. Ivan is so worried about something going wrong that he is very strict as to what I can do. If it were up to him I wouldn't even stretch. I like that he also shares my fears and his over protectiveness is very cute.

I'll be home tomorrow so I will catch up on what's going on in blogland.

P.S. Thanks for the advice on my last post.

Sorry about the rest but if it will help then it is worth it. I'm glad the support hose are helping, especially with the cost. Feel better and keep us updated.

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. We got back on Friday from vacation. Glad Hannah and Matthew are doing well. Sorry you're on "house arrest". Hope it won't be too long. Ivan sounds great...you're very lucky.

I feel ya on the "house arrest" part. Its good to see ya taking it well, and in good humor.

NON-fashionable thigh highs aren't the best idea to spend a hundred dollars on (I'm sure you have a ton of other things to spend a hundred dollars on) but as long as they work, then its money well spent. Are they just the sexiest thigh highs you've ever worn? :)

Well, keep your spirits up and them legs elevated. Can't wait to see more u/s pics.

Tell Ivan you need a bell. Anytime you need something, or just need a kiss you can ring the bell. LOL I'm sure he'd LOVE the idea.

I hope the swelling is going down. Maybe you can use the time to catch up on some chick flicks or beach reads?

Over 1/2 way there Liz!! Keep those legs up and the stockings snug. You will get through it just fine and those babies will be here in just a few months!!

    Have you felt movement yet?

Sorry to hear about the house arrest but hopefully it will do it's job and you will be back to activity in no time.

So glad to hear that both babies are doing well. I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going. Well... at least it seems to be going fast for me. Probably not going nearly fast enough for you.
